Ten years of Isologic: from Class 7 specialist to European ADR partner

In 2025, Isologic celebrates its tenth anniversary. What began in 2015 as a small specialist in radioactive transport has, in just one decade, grown into a fully fledged European player in dangerous goods logistics. Not through rapid expansion or grand promises, but through consistent choices: investing in expertise, in people, and in quality. Always with the awareness that behind every shipment there’s more at stake than just cargo.

From niche expertise to foundation

Isologic was founded in 2015 as a specialist in road transport of ADR Class 7: radioactive materials. That’s not a niche you stumble into by accident. Transporting radioactive materials demands exceptional care, special permits, and drivers who know exactly what they’re doing. From day one, the bar was set high. And it had to be. In nuclear medicine, every minute counts, and error-free work isn’t a luxury – it’s a necessity.

That focus became our foundation. First in the Netherlands, and increasingly across borders. As our customers expanded their operations, they started asking whether we could grow with them. And we did.

From specialization to system

Where Isologic started out exclusively in Class 7, more and more disciplines were added over the years. First GDP transport for the pharmaceutical sector, then explosives for civil and industrial applications, and eventually the full spectrum of ADR transport.

Today, we handle road transport of dangerous goods in all ADR classes (with the exception of fissile nuclear materials). That isn’t a cosmetic change; it’s a principled choice. No longer mastering just one narrow specialty, but building a complete system in which dangerous goods logistics are carried out in an integrated, controlled, and professional way.

That shift also changed Isologic’s role. We’re no longer just an executing party, but a partner who thinks along. Not just a carrier, but a link in a larger chain that has to perform under pressure, regulation, and tight time windows.

Part of Special Cargo

Isologic didn’t grow in a vacuum. As part of the Special Cargo family since February 2024, we’re embedded in a larger organization that brings logistics, safety, and training together. That combination is no coincidence.

Our training and consultancy division, Special Cargo College, ensures that knowledge isn’t something you pick up incidentally, but maintain structurally. Special Cargo Services strengthens the chain with storage, forwarding, and additional logistics solutions. And within that ecosystem, Isologic forms the backbone for specialist transport.

Our role as in-house carrier for Special Cargo Services means that customers with complex logistics challenges no longer have to juggle multiple parties. Wherever dangerous goods are involved, the chain comes down to one provider, one line of responsibility, and one consistent level of quality.

Reliability as culture

If you manage to stay in business for ten years in this sector, you’re doing something right. But it isn’t just technology or regulations that determine that. It’s culture.

With us, you’ll find people who know their profession and take it seriously. Drivers who understand that they’re not just “doing a transport job,” but are a crucial link in medical processes, industrial supply chains, and public safety. Planning, operations, and management who are aware of that responsibility every single day.

We know that radioactive materials decay – their radioactivity decreases as time passes. We know that medicines have to arrive on time. Because mistakes disrupt schedules, therapies, and processes. And precisely because of that, we go one step further, even when no one explicitly asks us to. For us, that’s normal; it’s part of our responsibility.

Growing responsibly

Over the past ten years, Isologic has grown in headcount, in fleet size, and in geographic reach. But never faster than the organization itself could handle. We’d rather build steadily and carefully than quickly and on shaky ground.

That means investing in training before a driver goes out alone. Only putting new vehicles into service once they fit seamlessly within our existing safety framework. And only expanding into new regions when the foundations are strong enough to support that growth over the long term.

For us, growth is not a goal in itself. Quality is.

Ten years behind us – and looking ahead

Anyone looking back at ten years of Isologic sees a company that has steadily broadened its scope without losing its core. That core remains: specialist transport built on knowledge, control, and commitment.

We’re proud of where we stand, but just as focused on where we’re heading. The world of dangerous goods is changing. Legislation is changing. Technology is changing. Expectations are changing.

What doesn’t change is our conviction:

  • that logistics is never just a side issue,
  • that safety is never just a formality,
  • and that trust has to be earned again, every single day.

Ten years of Isologic isn’t an end point. It’s the foundation for the next ten years.
